Oury Clark Financial Services on Retirement Planning

Planning Ahead

Why is this important?

With people living longer and leading healthier lives, it is now more important than ever to plan ahead for your finances in retirement. A pension is just one of the ways you can save for your retirement, and it is particularly attractive as it provides a number of tax benefits compared with other investments.

How much should I be funding?

Making small changes now can make a big difference to your income in retirement. We can help you plan ahead, to identify what pension income you would ideally like to receive in retirement, reviewing any existing planning you have in place and putting in place a plan of action to meet any shortfalls.

Remember the earlier you start the better, but don’t assume you have left it too late.

Where do I save?

Pensions can be very confusing, and for many people they don’t know where to start. We will review the savings options available to you, whether it be a scheme run by your employer or private funding making use of a personal pension, stakeholder scheme or SIPP (Self Invested Personal Pension).

As part of the planning process, we will review with you the investment options available within your pension contract, recommending a portfolio of investments targeted to your retirement and set up in line with your risk tolerance profile. It is important that this planning is reviewed over time as your circumstances change.

Reviewing previous planning

Many of our clients have funded a number of pension arrangements throughout their working life. At Oury Clark, we can review your previous retirement planning to ensure it remains competitive and suitable for your future needs. It is now possible to fund a number of pension arrangements at the same time, or you may wish to consolidate your policies where appropriate.

By reviewing your planning as a whole, we can help you meet your retirement plans by ensuring your pension assets are invested for growth and in line with risk tolerance.
