At Oury Clark we enjoy a dynamic and fast-moving professional environment. The training we provide offers a breadth and depth of experience and to this end we do not enforce a system of set six-month ‘seats’ but rather encourage trainees to enjoy a varied workload, in at least four areas, that is closely managed through our Training Partner. We will always try to accommodate trainees’ strengths and interests when allocating work.
We aim to recruit one trainee every six months in March and September each year. Applications will be accepted no earlier than twelve, and no later than six, months in advance of the date the training contract is due to commence. Therefore, for the intake in March, we require applications to be received by 31st August in the preceding year. September intake applications will be accepted from 31st August in the year before and stay open up until 1st March of the same year.
Owing to our dedication to ensuring that we get the right people for the right job we believe in taking on trainees with a view to building a lasting and mutually beneficial relationship. We therefore invite prospective trainees to complete one year working as a paralegal at the firm prior to their training contract commencing.
Oury Clark Solicitors do not pay GDL or LPC course fees.
Due to the volume of applications it is regretfully not possible to respond to everyone but all applications are welcome and will be considered on merit. We are an equal opportunities employer.
As we believe in giving trainees early responsibility and client contact we ask that candidates have achieved at least a 2:1 at degree level and a commendation on their LPC course. This enables us to build practical skills and commercial experience on a strong academic background.
If you wish to apply for a training contract, please send your C.V. and covering letter by post only (stating clearly which intake you are interested in), to:

Applicants may be invited for preliminary interview, and if successful will be invited for a second stage interview which may involve a day’s work experience so that they get to experience the firm’s day-to-day atmosphere and we can get to know them in a more natural setting.
