Summary
Oury Clark Chartered Accountants, Oury Clark Solicitors and Arlington Recruitment Limited may use your personal information together with other information for providing legal services, marketing, administration, and training and we may disclose your information to our service providers and agents for these purposes. We may also keep your information for a reasonable period for marketing purposes in order to contact you about our services, but you can choose not to receive such marketing material at any time. Occasionally, the marketing material concerns the provision of services by third parties; for example where Oury Clark Chartered Accountants’ staff are speaking at a conference organised by someone else. Oury Clark Chartered Accountants processes personal data for legal (e.g. to comply with money laundering regulations) and for commercial purposes (e.g. creditworthiness checks).
Privacy statement in detail
We understand the importance of protecting the personal information of our clients and contacts and, at all times, we seek to ensure that such protection is afforded.
To help us make credit decisions about clients, to prevent fraud, to check the identity of new clients and to prevent money laundering, we may, where necessary and appropriate, search the files of credit reference agencies who will record any credit searches on your file. That information may be used by other credit grantors for making credit decisions about you and the people with whom you are financially associated, for prevention of fraud and money laundering, and occasionally for tracing debtors. In order to comply with money laundering regulations and for the protection of Oury Clark Chartered Accountants and all our clients we operate a money laundering reporting procedure. Oury Clark Chartered Accountants, and the individual Chartered Accountants and trainee Chartered Accountants employed by the firm, are obliged by law to disclose certain information to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in relation to any suspicion of money laundering and this obligation will be strictly complied with. That officer will then decide whether or not a report should be made to NCIS.
For marketing purposes, Oury Clark Chartered Accountants may share your information with our strategic partners. We or they may contact you by mail, telephone, fax, e-mail, or SMS to let you know about any services, events, or seminars which we or they think may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive such information from us or our strategic partners, please contact our data protection officer, Ian Phipps, at any time. No further action is necessary if you have previously indicated to us that you do not want to receive such marketing material.
In some cases, Oury Clark Chartered Accountants may need to process data which are defined by the Data Protection Act 1998 as ’sensitive personal data’ for the above purposes. If you are a client of Oury Clark Chartered Accountants, your continuing relationship with us demonstrates your consent to this processing.
Sometimes we may need to transfer your personal information to countries which do not provide the same level of data protection as the UK. If we do have a need to make such a transfer then we will put a contract in place to ensure that your information is adequately protected and your privacy respected.
When you give us information about another individual for business purposes, you do so on the basis that the other individual has agreed, and has consented to the processing of his or her personal data, including sensitive personal data, and to the transfer of his or her information abroad and to your receiving on his or her behalf any data protection notices.
To make sure that we follow your instructions correctly and to improve our service through training of our staff, we may monitor any communication between you and Oury Clark Chartered Accountants.
You are entitled to ask for a copy of your information (for which we may charge a £10 fee) and to correct any inaccuracies.
Oury Clark Chartered Accountants will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of the information you give us. Our agents or contractors who have access to information, which you give us in the course of providing services to you, are required to keep that information confidential and are not permitted to use it for any purpose other than to carry out the services which they are performing for Oury Clark Chartered Accountants. If you have given us information about yourself and would like copies of that information, or if you would like us to correct any factual inaccuracies in that information, or if you would like that information deleted from our records, please contact us at contact@ouryclark.com or follow this link for alternative contact details. A request for copies of personal information held by Oury Clark Chartered Accountants will incur a small administrative charge of £10.
Because, despite our best intentions, no system can be 100% protected, Oury Clark Chartered Accountants cannot accept liability for any loss or damage suffered or incurred by any individual as a result of the unauthorised use or misuse by any third party of any personal information provided to Oury Clark Chartered Accountants.
