Opportunity to join a growing technology team within a highly successful and diverse professional services firm.

Oury Clark is investing in practical AI systems that enhance how professional services are delivered. We are building tools that help internal teams work more effectively and create new technology-enabled services for clients.

The Role

Oury Clark is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-powered products and services. Working closely with the CTO, technology team and wider departments, you will develop practical AI systems such as AI copilots, Retrieval-augmented knowledge systems, autonomous and assistive AI agents and tools for teams that serve our global client base.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building production-ready systems rather than research based. You will work across the full AI product lifecycle, including:

  • Identifying opportunities for AI solutions
  • Rapidly prototyping ideas
  • Building scalable services
  • Deploying and integrating AI capabilities into existing systems and platforms

You will also have the opportunity to experiment with new tools and approaches as the AI ecosystem evolves – This role offers the opportunity to work directly with modern AI technologies and deploy production systems that solve real operational and client-facing challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deploy AI-powered solutions that support internal teams and client-facing services.
  • Build AI-based systems using a wide range of structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Develop automated workflows and intelligent tools that improve operational efficiency and streamline professional services processes.
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools, frameworks and models and identify where they create value.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable and compliant with governance, privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the firm’s AI capabilities and engineering practices.

Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • Experience working with Microsoft-based AI tools and services, such as:
  • AI platforms & model development (Azure AI Studio, Azure OpenAI Service)
  • Prebuilt AI services & APIs (Azure AI Services / Cognitive Services)
  • AI-powered search & retrieval (Azure AI Search)
  • AI frameworks & model runtimes (Microsoft Semantic Kernel, ONNX Runtime)
  • Low-code AI builders & copilots (Copilot Studio, AI Builder in Power Platform, Power Automate)
  • Experience building LLM-powered applications using APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic or other model providers.
  • Experience designing RAG systems, document ingestion, embeddings, and vector search.
  • Proficiency in Python and other primary languages; experience writing comprehensive tests and building evaluation harnesses for agents and prompts.
  • Experience building backend services and working with APIs.
  • Familiarity with storage systems, vector databases, semantic search and knowledge retrieval systems.
  • Exposure to AI workflow orchestration tools and autonomous agents is advantageous.

Professional Skills

  • Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to translate business challenges into practical technical solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in iterative environments with rapid prototyping and experimentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain AI concepts clearly to colleagues across the firm.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies and applied AI development.

Experience

  • Graduate-level education in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3–5 years’ demonstrable experience in software engineering/machine learning with a focus on applied AI development.
  • Hands-on experience working with LLMs and generative AI technologies.
  • Experience delivering real-world applications or systems, rather than purely academic or research projects.
  • Exposure to professional services environments is highly desirable but not essential.
