VAT Manager

We are seeking a proactive and experienced VAT Specialist to join our VAT & Tax Team.

This role is perfect for someone who is hands-on, enjoys both advisory and compliance work, and is eager to help build and shape our VAT department.

You will work alongside a fun and dedicated team that takes their work seriously but not themselves.

Our clients range in size and complexity, ensuring a varied and engaging work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• VAT Compliance: Conduct high-level VAT reviews to maintain quality control.
• VAT Planning: Develop and implement effective VAT planning strategies to optimize clients’ tax positions, minimize VAT liabilities, and enhance cash flow.
• Advisory Services: Provide expert advice on complex VAT matters, including cross-border transactions and the VAT implications of business decisions.
• Audits and Investigations: Assist clients in preparing for and managing VAT audits and handling VAT investigations by HMRC.
• Research and Analysis: Stay up-to-date with changing VAT regulations and perform thorough research and analysis to interpret and communicate the impact of these changes on clients’ businesses.
• Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and offering tailored VAT solutions.
• Training: Provide training and workshops to clients and internal teams on VAT-related matters to enhance understanding and compliance.

Required Qualifications:

• Ideally, 4 years of UK VAT experience, either in General Practice or having worked at HMRC.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
